The role also offers hands-on experience with IT hardware and structured development in tools like PowerShell and SQL—great foundations for progressing into IT operations, data, or support roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Log and maintain IT asset records accurately in the asset management database
  • Prepare, label, and package IT equipment for deployment, return, and audit
  • Arrange warranty repairs with Dell for laptops and ensure timely tracking
  • Assist with the collection, testing, and inspection of returned equipment
  • Ensure device records are accurate and up to date in Microsoft Intune
  • Verify that devices are enrolled and appear compliant in Intune, escalating any issues as needed
  • Reconcile physical inventory with digital records during monthly stock check
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean IT storeroom, ensuring equipment is stored safely and logically
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory documentation is kept current
  • Help standardize and improve internal asset data processes
  • Shadow basic scripting and reporting tasks using PowerShell and SQL, with guidance and learning support
  • Collaborate with the IT Resource Manager on documentation and data clean-up projects

Desirable Skills & Experience (training Provided)

  • Basic understanding of IT hardware (laptops, tablets, mobile devices, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and willing to learn data tools
  • An interest in date and keen to learn PowerShell scripting and writing basic SQL queries
  • Organized, reliable, and able to follow structured processes
  • Clear communicator and effective team player
  • Interest in device management and endpoint compliance

Ideal For Someone Who

  • Is looking for their first role in IT with a desire to specialize in data or system administration
  • Has completed a relevant college course, apprenticeship, or has self-taught IT skills
  • Enjoys working with hardware and databases, and wants to understand how IT supports business operations
  • Wants hands-on experience and a platform to progress into more technical areas

What You’ll Get

  • Full training and mentorship from the IT Resource Manager
  • Exposure to enterprise IT operations, Microsoft Intune, ticketing and organizational platforms as well as asset lifecycle tracking
  • Opportunities to learn PowerShell and SQL through real-world applications and guided support
  • Friendly and collaborative team culture
  • 6-month probation period with ongoing performance feedback and development planning
