Job description

IT Project Manager

Location: Europe, home-based

At IQVIA, we are continuously expanding the boundaries of what’s possible in clinical development through advanced analytics, cutting-edge technology, and deep scientific expertise. Within our Research & Development Solutions (RDS) organization, we are enhancing our services with agentic systems—autonomous AI agents that can reason, plan, act, and learn—to further streamline clinical trial workflows and accelerate the delivery of new therapies. By embedding these capabilities into our service offerings for our customers and the clinical sites that we engage with to run clinical trials, we not only strengthen our leadership in AI-driven clinical research but also bring life-changing treatments to patients faster and more efficiently.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an IT Program Controls Professional who is passionate about delivering cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology on schedule, on budget, and with excellent quality. In this role, you will work directly with the Program Head and Program Manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of AI scientists, engineers, and product managers working to develop and prototype innovative AI solutions. As part of the R&D AI Innovation Hub Program, you will plan for, monitor, control, and report on program development (early-stage proof of concept and initial MVP work) of AI solutions for IQVIA’s Research & Development Solutions (R&D) business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning: Create, track, and maintain the overall program backlog, schedule, resource/workload plan, and budget for the respective AI solutions. Planning will include technology development, business process design, and handoff to scale-up/delivery components of the program.
  • Implementation Coordination: Lead and coordinate all implementation activities of the Agentic squads and support the Program Manager and Program Head in analyzing and resolving emergent risks and issues.
  • Iteration Management: Manage iteration backlog, oversee execution of iterations and releases, facilitate testing, and obtain client sign-off.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor the Business Case progression and report status to the Program Leadership according to a defined communication plan, including tracking and reporting KPIs, risks, issues, and financials.
  • Change Control/Management: Manage and document changes to the program's scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Escalation Management: Escalate significant deviations, critical risks, issues, or non-standard approaches to senior management.
  • Transition Management: Plan for and facilitate smooth transition of deliverables to deployment or operational support teams.
  • Methodology Adherence: Ensure program adherence to methodology, with team training and certification.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and reports, including status reports, risk assessments, and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in program controls and project management, especially in software and AI technology development.
  • Experience supporting Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Owners.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Six Sigma, LEAN, or PMI/PMP Certification is a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional technology projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Experience with early-stage AI technology development efforts.
  • Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Experience managing SOC 2 Type 2 audits is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent reporting skills for complex information presentation.

This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.
