Due to growth, we are seeking an IT Project Consultant / Engineer based in Salisbury, QLD. This role suits someone with experience across most practice areas and a strong interest in continuous learning.

The Role

The IT Project Consultant / Engineer reports to the Project Service Coordinator & Lead Project Engineer. As a client-centered delivery role, you will collaborate with the projects team, technical team, and service desk to deliver quality, timely, and sophisticated project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Deliver projects and execute approved statements of work
2. Manage projects from start to finish, independently and as part of a team
3. Oversee project budget, timeline, risk management, and scope analysis to ensure success
4. Create and maintain documentation for clients and internal teams
5. Provide advanced technical assistance and troubleshooting for escalated support issues
6. Offer insights on current and emerging technologies to inform client strategies
7. Share specialized product knowledge with the team

The successful candidate

1. Has education in relevant IT courses or certifications
2. MSP experience is a plus
3. Has a strong understanding of core networking principles: routing, subnetting, L2/L3 switching, VLANs, Trunking, SDWAN, IPsec
4. Is confident working with Azure, O365, Azure AD, and private cloud solutions
5. Has proven experience with cloud-based solutions, including hybrid integrations
6. Possesses knowledge of Windows and Microsoft solutions
7. Understands the role and responsibilities of the position
8. Is motivated, proactive, and accountable
9. Delivers high-standard customer service, prioritizing clients effectively

Core technical expertise required

1. Windows Server design, administration, and support
2. Understanding of ITIL & SLA’s
3. Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare)
4. Networking technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Dell)
5. Firewall/Security technologies (e.g., Sophos)
6. Scripting skills (PowerShell or similar)
7. Strong Active Directory, GPO, Azure AD, and Windows Services knowledge
8. Office 365 support
9. Experience with ConnectWise Manage or similar ticketing systems
