IT Procurement Category Specialist 6-Month Contract (Remote)

Location: Remote, some UK based travel

Contract Type: 6-month contract

Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate / Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Role profile

A global organisation is seeking an experienced IT Procurement Category Specialist to join their procurement function on a 6-month contract. This is a fully remote role, offering the opportunity to work with a truly international team and support a global IT spend of over $100 million.

You ll play a key role in delivering commercial contracts across key IT sub-categories including hardware, software, cloud-based applications, and selected consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Global IT Category Manager to support delivery of a 3-year category strategy
• Lead and manage global sourcing events (RFX)
• Own and manage relationships with selected IT suppliers
• Support contract reviews, license audits, and renewals
• Negotiate and formalise new agreements to ensure optimal commercial outcomes
• Contribute to vendor governance and supplier performance management
• Drive improvements in cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, and payment terms

You ll Bring:

• Procurement experience, ideally within global or regional IT categories
• Strong understanding of hardware, software (including SaaS), cloud services, and IT consultancy spend
• Proven experience running end-to-end sourcing events and negotiating contracts
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and supplier management skills
• A commercial mindset with a focus on value, compliance, and risk mitigation
• Business degree or equivalent (MCIPS/MBA desirable but not essential)

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, remote environment
