Job summary

WHSmith is seeking a Procurement Manager - IT to lead the IT procurement category across the UK, Europe and globally, influencing stakeholders and delivering cost-effective strategies. You will manage end-to-end tender processes and negotiate contracts, while supporting continuous improvement within Group Procurement Indirect.

The role offers a hybrid working model with global exposure and travel to support large projects, reporting into a Senior Procurement Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years procurement experience with IT category.
• Contract Law and contract drafting experience.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiation skills and analytical ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence at all levels.
• Indirect category experience for Goods and Services.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Rationalising and developing the supplier base.
• Plan and manage IT categories across UK, European and Global sourcing.
• Optimise value by engaging stakeholders and KPIs/SLA delivery.
• Lead end-to-end tender processes (RFI/RFP) with requirements and criteria.
• Support contract reviews and renewal processes.
• Lead small to medium contract negotiations.
• Support tenders for large and complex contracts.
• Support agile procurement of small capital items to tight deadlines.
• Drive cost reduction, risk mitigation and spend control.
• Provide category level commercial and negotiation support.
• Manage supplier negotiations and contracting relations.
• Support continuous improvement within the team and with stakeholders.
• Global tenders may occur and travel to the US / time-zone coordination.
