An established industry player is seeking an IT/OT Support Engineer to join their team in Wrexham. Job description

CK Group are recruiting for an IT/OT Support Engineer

Join a leading biopharmaceutical company at their site in Wrexham on a 6-month contract (outside IR35).

Salary: Ltd/UMB £60.00 - £74.50 per hour.

IT/OT Support Engineer Role:
  • Provide IT/OT expertise to internal customers (Maintenance, Production, Quality) to ensure manufacturing and laboratory equipment meet availability, performance, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing and lab systems.
  • Assist in regulatory audits with IT/OT expertise.
  • Generate and maintain disaster recovery plans, procedures, and records for computerized systems.
  • Support validation activities for computerized systems (commissioning, qualification, startup).
  • Manage vendor relationships for support activities and ensure SLA compliance.
Your Background:
  • Strong understanding of Automation & Control principles with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Experience in diagnostics and maintenance of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency with Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Step 7, WinCC Flex 2008, TIA Portal, WinCC/PCS7).
  • Experience in writing and reviewing technical documents (specifications, reports, risk assessments).
  • Knowledge of other PLC/HMI/SCADA manufacturers.
  • Awareness of regulatory standards (GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR11, EU ANNEX 11).
