Job summary

West Thames College in London is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to oversee operational delivery, administration and support of the college's IT systems and services, ensuring stability, security and high service standards.

Working under the Head of IT, you will administer and maintain Windows Server, virtualization, network and security operations, and provide 3rd line escalation support in partnership with the Service Desk Manager to implement permanent fixes and system improvements.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the operational delivery, administration, and support of the college's IT systems and services, ensuring stability, security, and high service standards.
• To operate under the strategic direction, governance, and oversight of the Head of IT, who retains ownership of IT strategy, architecture, budgets, and senior stakeholder engagement.
• To administer and maintain the college's systems and infrastructure, including Windows Server, virtualisation, network, and security operations.
• To provide 3rd line technical escalation support in close collaboration with the Service Desk Manager, ensuring recurring issues are resolved through permanent fixes and system improvements.
