Job description

Location : UK-based with the option for remote working. This role requires attendance at the London Head Office, SW1, to fulfil operational requirements. The number of days onsite per week will vary from 1-4 days as required.


Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time: The following flexible working options are also available, Remote Working, Compressed Workweeks, Flexible Hours, and Job share.

Benefits: 4 wellbeing days per calendar year [pro-rata for part-time staff], plus annual leave and public holidays entitlement. Eligible for the Civil Service pension scheme option - employer contribution up to 28.97%.

IT Operations Manager

This is a varied and interesting role. Working across teams based in the UK and overseas, this role will manage our information and communication technology systems and provide specialist support to help ensure that our platforms, and technology fully enables colleagues to deliver policy and programme work.

The IT Operations Manager will be our global administratorfor Microsoft 365 platform (Entra ID, Azure Services, MS Defender, SharePoint, Intune, MS Defender, MS Purview) and Product Manager for Microsoft SharePoint. Other areas of work include.

  • Procuringnew laptops and upgradingexistinglaptops andconfiguration of new devices via Microsoft Intune / Autopilot.
  • Ensuring laptops are compliant with company policy.
  • Logistical distribution of laptops throughout the network.
  • MaintenanceoftheICT asset register.
  • Support with handover and transition to new IT support provider.
  • Overseeing the reaccreditation process for Cyber Essentials Plus
  • Overseeing the upgrade of assets to Windows 11
  • Supporting the Systems Improvement Project (SIP) team with IT security and SharePoint related matters including but not limited to: Dynamic Security Groups, Azure App registrations, SharePoint site branding.
  • Developing training documentation for new features related to IT and network security, as part of the SIP.

About You

It is essential you have previous experience within a similar role within a professional environment. Strong technical skills, a strong track record of delivering support facing services for teams, are flexible and adaptive, and have the capacity to learn quickly. In addition you should have:

  • Demonstrable experience in securely configuring and deploying laptops via Microsoft Intune / Autopilot
  • Strong track record of acting as a network administrator, managing Entra ID (including App Registrations, SSO, conditional access, security groups), Azure files, Azure Virtual Desktop and Microsoft licencing.
  • Strong experience in acting as an administrator for SharePoint
  • Experience in using eDiscovery search
  • Experience ofimplementing or strengthening processes to improve efficiency.
  • Good understanding of business processes including the outsource of procured services.
  • Understanding of Security Operations Centre functions including SEIM and EDR tooling.
  • Experienceusing SharePointand client management systems(CRM).
  • Experience of cross-collaboration betweenmultiple departments.
  • Excellent time management, including ability to prioritise tasksand working to deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability tofostergoodworkingrelationships.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience providing user support ideally to remote teams.
  • Excellenttechnical knowledge of Microsoft365Platform
  • Good knowledge of tools to support digital delivery.
