Are you passionate about IT support and problem-solving?

We have a position for an IT Operations Engineer to join the team based at our Head Office in Doncaster.

Overall Purpose of Role

To provide 1st line (helpdesk) technical support to internal and external customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email, or face-to-face.

IT Operations
  1. Provide technical support by answering support queries face-to-face, via phone, or email.
  2. Maintain high standards of customer service for all support queries and adhere to service management principles.
  3. Take ownership of user problems and proactively address user issues.
  4. Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to resolve problems promptly.
  5. Assist clients in resolving hardware or software issues.
  6. Support users in using computer equipment by providing training and advice.
  7. Assign complex service issues to relevant IT support team members.
  8. Configure PCs, printers, PDAs.
  9. Create user accounts.
  10. Check backup logs.
  11. Document changes to user permissions.
Person Specification
  • Experience in 1st line/helpdesk support.
  • Troubleshooting skills for Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent telephone manner and face-to-face communication skills.
Knowledge
  • Microsoft-based operating systems, especially Windows desktop technologies.
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware setup and configuration.
  • Knowledge of Server and Active Directory.
Qualifications/Certificates/Education
  • Relevant IT qualification.
Personal Qualities/Other
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in any environment.
