Job Description:

IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator

Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)

Location: Southampton office based

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems.
• Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Develops technical expertise on network & telecommunications systems and technologies.
• Communicates effectively regarding system operations and changes.
• Ensures compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems.
• Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded.
• Uses standards and procedures proficiently.
• Communicates effectively in a team or departmental setting.
• Mentors less experienced IT Administrators.
• Provides solutions using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis.
• Performs minor version upgrades and recommends component improvements.
• Coordinates system changes and participates in roadmap planning.
• Organizes and leads meetings with IT users.
• Adapts well to change and welcomes feedback.
• Monitors security access levels.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years relevant experience, with a combination of education and experience.
• Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently.
• Experience in implementing technology solutions.
• Strong communication skills in a team setting.
• Understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice.
