IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are properly managed.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Evaluates feasibility and makes recommendations
- Continuously develops expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in writing and verbally within a team or department
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission and Quality policies, showing enthusiasm for company success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions through sound problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Performs minor system upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
- Recommends improvements at the component level
- Identifies system interdependencies
- Coordinates cross-team changes
- Participates in system or application planning
- Leads meetings with IT users
- Adapts well to change and values feedback
- Monitors security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or 2 years of relevant experience, with a combination of education and experience
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully
- Strong communication skills in small team settings
- Effective documentation and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony systems like Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
