Job Description:

IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator

Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)

Location: Belfast, Office based

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are effectively managed.

• Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
• Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Measures feasibility and makes recommendations
• Continuously develops expertise on network & telecommunications systems and emerging technologies
• Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
• Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
• Understands and manages capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
• Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
• Uses standards and procedures proficiently
• Communicates effectively in team or departmental settings
• Aligns with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm for company success
• Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
• Provides reliable solutions through sound problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Performs minor system upgrades
• Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
• Recommends component improvements
• Identifies system interdependencies
• Coordinates non-project changes across teams
• Participates in system or application roadmap planning
• Leads meetings with IT system users

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or relevant experience (or 2 years of relevant experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
• Experience in implementing technology solutions
• Strong communication skills in small team settings
• Effective documentation and organizational skills
• Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
