IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Belfast, Office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are effectively managed.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Measures feasibility and makes recommendations
- Continuously develops expertise on network & telecommunications systems and emerging technologies
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Understands and manages capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Uses standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in team or departmental settings
- Aligns with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm for company success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions through sound problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Performs minor system upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient management
- Recommends component improvements
- Identifies system interdependencies
- Coordinates non-project changes across teams
- Participates in system or application roadmap planning
- Leads meetings with IT system users
- Adapts well to change and values feedback
- Monitors security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or relevant experience (or 2 years of relevant experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions
- Strong communication skills in small team settings
- Effective documentation and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
