Our well-established client in Hertford is seeking an IT Network Support Engineer to join their team.

We are seeking a skilled IT Network Support Engineer to support and expand our customers’ network infrastructure. You will work as a bridge between our service desk, projects team, and NOC. The ideal candidate will diagnose circuit and hardware issues and have knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including routing, firewalling, and IPAM. Experience with Meraki SDWAN technologies is a plus but not required.

• Network Support and Maintenance: Support enterprise network environments, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain firewall, VPN, switching, Wi-Fi, LAN, and WAN infrastructure.
• Incident Management: Work with ISP and internal service desk to diagnose, escalate, and resolve networking issues within SLAs.
• Deployment: Support hardware deployment and replacement with the projects team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of enterprise network engineer or administrator experience.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Experience configuring and diagnosing routers, firewalls, and switches.
• Strong VPN configuration and management skills.
• Packet capture/Wireshark analysis experience.
• Good communication skills with various teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Meraki infrastructure.
• VPN meshing or SD-WAN experience.
• BGP routing knowledge.

Hours of Work:

The support desk operates from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Working hours are negotiable:

8:00 am – 4:30 pm

9:00 am – 5:30 pm

The initial hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, with flexibility after probation.
