Job summary

Oracle Red Bull Racing is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer in Milton Keynes to design, implement and maintain our Cisco-based network across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and contribute to infrastructure improvements in a fast-paced motorsport setting.

The role requires CCNA minimum with strong routing, switching, wireless and firewall expertise, plus experience in hybrid infrastructure and change management.

Qualifications

• Minimum CCNA certification required.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing protocols, switching, WLAN and security.
• Experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud connectivity is essential.

We're looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer who's as passionate about performance as we are, helping to build and maintain the systems that power one of the most innovative teams in motorsport.Overview:We are looking for a skilled and motivated Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Team. The role will play a key part in the design, support and maintenance of RBTG’s network infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments.The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in routing and switching, together with practical experience across LAN, WAN, VPNs, wireless networks and firewalls. The role will involve the day-to-day operation and support of the network environment, as well as contributing to infrastructure projects, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Network Infrastructure & Operations- Support the implementation, configuration and maintenance of a complex network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless, routing, switching and firewall platforms, within a predominantly Cisco-based network environment.- Proactively monitor network performance, capacity, availability and security, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact business operations wherever possible.- Take ownership of assigned network infrastructure and operational tasks and see them through to completion.- Troubleshoot and resolve network and connectivity issues, escalating more complex problems when required.- Carry out root cause analysis following incidents and contribute to preventative actions.- Support routine maintenance, including firmware upgrades, patching, configuration changes and system optimisation.Continuous Improvement- Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, performance, security and operational efficiency.- Review configurations, monitoring alerts and processes to identify potential issues and improvements.- Recommend and implement practical improvements, including automation where appropriate.- Contribute to technical discussions and the ongoing development of the network environment.Security & Compliance- Ensure network infrastructure is operated in line with security best practice and organisational policies.- Support security audits, vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.- Implement security patches and updates as required.- Ensure network changes are appropriately planned, tested, documented and implemented through the established change management process.Projects & Collaboration- Support the delivery of network and infrastructure projects, including implementation, testing and deployment.- Assist with the introduction of new network technologies and infrastructure improvements.- Work with senior engineers and other IT teams to deliver changes and resolve technical issues.- Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.Skills & Experience:- Proven experience working with enterprise campus and data center networks.- Strong practical knowledge of enterprise routing protocols (BGP and OSPF), switching, LAN/WAN, wireless networking and firewall technologies.- Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise network environments and resolving connectivity issues.- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises and cloud connectivity.- Experience contributing to infrastructure projects, technology implementations or network changes.- CCNA certification as a minimum, or equivalent level of knowledge and proven experience- CCNP certification, or currently working towards CCNP.
