Complete Security Recruitment Ltd is seeking an IT Manager to lead governance, information security and compliance within the IT Department in Hertfordshire. You will manage the IT Helpdesk, act as a technical escalation point, and ensure technology change aligns with business priorities.

Responsibilities include maintaining ISO 27001 accreditation, providing assurance for audits, and driving continual improvement of service delivery and security across the organisation.

Qualificações

• Proven experience as IT Manager, information security or similar governance/compliance role.
• Experience operating an ISO 27001–aligned management system with external audits.
• IT helpdesk or service desk leadership with service management knowledge.
• Strong background in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows Server and endpoint management.
• Experience handling security questionnaires, supplier assessments and tender responses.

The opportunity

We are looking for an IT Manager to join our IT Department. You will lead IT governance, information security and compliance, manage our IT Helpdesk, and act as a technical escalation point.

The role makes sure technology change is well governed, effectively introduced and aligned with business priorities. It helps us get the best value from our technology investments and supports a structured, resilient IT function.

What you will be doing

• Lead governance for technology projects, information security and cyber security, so decisions, standards and controls are clear, consistent and aligned with business priorities.
• Maintain our ISO accreditations and information security management system, and provide assurance on risk and compliance across key initiatives.
• Act as the main technology contact for customer assurance, accreditations, supplier assessments and bid responses.
• Lead the governance and continual improvement of our information management and collaboration platforms.
• Manage the IT Helpdesk and act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Introduce practical service management disciplines and performance standards, so service delivery is structured, repeatable and measurable.
• Drive continual improvement in service quality, resilience and user experience.
• Lead improvement initiatives that simplify processes and reduce manual effort, making better use of systems, automation, integration and AI where appropriate.
• Develop the IT team's capability, confidence and consistency through mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.

Essential skills and experience

• Proven experience in an IT Manager, information security or similar governance or compliance role.
• Practical experience of operating an ISO 27001-aligned management system and supporting external audits.
• Experience managing or leading an IT helpdesk or service desk, with a good understanding of service management practices.
• A solid technical background across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows Server and endpoint management, with the credibility to act as a technical escalation point.
• Experience completing customer assurance activities such as security questionnaires, supplier assessments and tender responses.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and security matters clearly to non-technical audiences.

Beneficial experience

• Hands-on experience leading or implementing ISO 27001, including audits. An ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementor qualification is an advantage.
• Relevant technical or security qualifications (for example CISSP, CISM, CISA, or Microsoft certifications) are desirable but not essential.
• Experience with project governance and assurance.
• Experience working with Critical National Infrastructure or security-conscious customers.
• Exposure to CCTV, Access Control or Intruder systems, particularly where IT and security systems intersect.
