Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Manager to join our team at HMP Bronzefield. This role involves developing and proposing changes to enhance the delivery of services to customers of the SJS, Education, and Healthcare networks. As the IT Manager, you will manage the local IT team, delivering support for the Information, Communication, and Security Systems, and supporting day-to-day operations.

  1. Management of all site incidents, ensuring they are resolved or escalated appropriately.
  2. Ensure team members have solid development plans and that these are realized.
  3. Complete team member EPA’s and PDR’s to defined times and quality standards.
  4. Manage all relevant projects to agreed timescales and costs.
  5. Support all ICT systems on site, including but not limited to SJS, education, and healthcare networks, CCTV, Cell Call and alarm systems, and telephone systems.
  6. Responsible for gathering and maintaining information required for certifications such as ISO27001 and MOJ accreditation.
  7. Assist in solving business problems by providing detailed advice and guidance to all levels of customers, demonstrating ingenuity in applying knowledge to complex and non-standard situations.
  8. Regularly monitor incidents, status, and resolution speed; proactively devise improvements and recommend changes to systems, products, or services.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent customer-facing skills and a passion for support.
  • Logical and analytical approach to fault finding/elimination.
  • Knowledge of environments processing and storing protectively marked information.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles, WAN, and hands-on LAN knowledge.
  • Knowledge of information assurance & data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR).
  • PRINCE2 or other project management qualification.
  • SC cleared or able to obtain clearance.

Package Description

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
