LOCATION: Stevenage
JOB PURPOSE:
You will develop and deliver dynamic learning programmes that meet the needs of learners and utilise a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies. You will plan and deliver Digital curriculum in a group setting to learners of varying abilities. We are particularly interested in recruiting lecturers with a programming, Esports, and computer games production background and current industry experience as we prepare for sector developments for technical education and launch our new T-Level suite in 23-24.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A strong track record of good or better teaching and learning delivery, whilst achieving high levels of student success.
- Experience of curriculum, course design, and assessment that meets industry, employer, and awarding body requirements.
- Highly developed course team leadership skills and effective implementation of quality systems and engagement with student voice as a driver for quality improvement.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and child protection legislation, as it impacts learning.
- Good analytical skills with proven ability to use management information to identify issues and opportunities to drive quality and performance.
- Well-developed organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A degree in a relevant subject area and/or relevant industry/sector experience.
- A relevant teaching qualification.
- Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy and experience of using IT applications.
- Experience of teaching Computing specialist units (Programming, Web Development, Networking, Cybersecurity, Esports, and Computer games production).
- Desirable - Experience of teaching on Level 2 to 4.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver consistently good or better teaching sessions, incorporating an effective range of learning strategies that enable outstanding learning outcomes for all students.
- Maintain high expectations of students, working with them to raise their ambition and aspiration, ensuring they realize their full potential.
- Deliver an appropriate blend of learning opportunities, making effective use of technology within the classroom and via online and independent learning.
- Undertake all aspects of student assessment, including internal verification and liaison with external verifiers and awarding bodies as required.
- Act as a course team leader for designated courses, maintaining up-to-date student records and delivering against agreed student retention, attendance, success, satisfaction, and outcome measures.
- Provide both academic and pastoral support for students, supporting them to achieve their destination ambitions.
- Comply with the college’s maths and English strategy, maintaining your ability to embed both subjects into your teaching practice.
- Work with colleagues responsible for transformation and student services to deliver an engaging, inspiring student experience that prepares students for the workforce.
- Collaborate with the Head of Curriculum and colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning standards.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to maximize employer engagement, including curriculum design, workshops, guest talks, and placements.
