Vicit is recruiting an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead physical IT infrastructure and hardware deployment projects. You'll oversee installation, integration and rollout of servers, networking gear, storage, cabling and on-premises systems, coordinating estates and engineers across sites in the United Kingdom.

From planning and procurement to vendor management, site readiness, testing and handover, you will manage budgets, schedules and risks with a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing physical IT infrastructure or hardware deployment projects.
• Experience coordinating engineers, installation teams, contractors and third-party vendors.
• Strong understanding of networking equipment, servers, cabling and on-premises IT environments.
• Experience managing site installations, hardware rollouts, upgrades or infrastructure refresh projects.
• Strong project management skills covering budgets, timelines, resources, risks and stakeholder management.

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of physical IT infrastructure projects from planning to handover, ensuring on-time, on-spec completion.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, engineers and vendor partners across multiple sites.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, resources and risk with a hands-on governance approach.
• Ensure site readiness, installation testing and handover documentation are completed to satisfaction.

Role Description

My client is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager with a strong background in delivering physical IT infrastructure and hardware deployment projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on project delivery experience involving the installation, implementation and rollout of physical IT equipment, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, structured cabling and other on-premises infrastructure.

They should be comfortable managing the full project lifecycle, from planning, procurement and vendor coordination through to site readiness, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience managing physical IT infrastructure or hardware deployment projects.
• Experience coordinating engineers, installation teams, contractors and third-party vendors.
• Strong understanding of networking equipment, servers, cabling and on-premises IT environments.
• Experience managing site installations, hardware rollouts, upgrades or infrastructure refresh projects.
• Strong project management skills covering budgets, timelines, resources, risks and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing projects involving multiple sites or physical locations would be advantageous.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience/working knowledge of audio-visual technology
• Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
• Technically aware and familiar in working with IT & AV systems

Important:

This is not a cloud-focused or software development project management role. Candidates must demonstrate direct experience delivering projects involving physical IT infrastructure and hardware installations.
