We’re recruiting an IT & Infrastructure Lead for an established and growing operational business based in Melton, East Yorkshire.
This is a newly defined, site-based role offering genuine ownership of the local IT environment. You’ll become the key technical point of contact on site, working closely with an established managed service provider and wider Group IT teams to ensure infrastructure, systems and end-user technology remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.
It would suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer, Senior IT Engineer, Site IT Lead or Infrastructure Lead who enjoys being hands-on but is ready for greater ownership and autonomy.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and ongoing improvement of the site’s IT infrastructure, including:
The site also operates a range of automated and operational technologies, so you’ll work aroundSCADA and other industrial systems, helping diagnose infrastructure or connectivity issues and coordinating specialist support where necessary.
You will not be expected to be a controls engineer or PLC programmer.
We’re interested in people with a strong background in IT infrastructure and networking, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, logistics, processing, energy or similarly operational environment.
You’re likely to have experience across areas such as:
Exposure to SCADA, operational technology, industrial networks or manufacturing systems would be particularly useful, but deep OT expertise is not essential.
More important is the ability to understand a broad technology environment, take ownership of problems and work effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
This is not a traditional helpdesk position.
You’ll have the opportunity to become the main technology lead for the site, bringing greater structure and ownership to an environment that has become increasingly dependent on technology as the business has grown.
You’ll also gain exposure to a wider international Group IT environment, providing an attractive combination of local autonomy, hands-on technical work and broader development opportunity.
The position is site-based in Melton, reflecting the practical nature of the role and the importance of having a technically capable person embedded within the operation.
Salary: up to £55,000, dependent on experience and overall technical capability.
