IT Infrastructure L3 Engineer (Server, Hyper-V, VMWare, Storage) - 6 months - London - Up to £625 per day

Hawksworth Consulting is recruiting for a IT Infrastructure L3 Engineer position based in London, working with a leading Investment Bank. The role involves managing platform and infrastructure services for front office electronic trading systems.

Location and Working Arrangements

• London – Liverpool Street area
• Hybrid working: 3 days in the office per week
• Inside IR35, rate up to £625 per day
• Initial term: 6 months

Responsibilities

Collaborate with core Infrastructure teams, development, and business units to respond to requests, handle fault reports, and contribute to project work. Maintain a strong understanding of eBusiness platform systems, focusing on performance, capacity planning, monitoring, and infrastructure dependencies such as market connectivity.

Requirements

• Experience in installing and managing Microsoft Windows Server, Clusters, Hyper-V, Active Directory, VMWare, HP Proliant, HP Storage (Alletra, Primera), Dell PowerScale, and security patching/vulnerability management
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell and Python for administration and automation
• ITIL and Lean methodologies knowledge
• Experience with eTrading infrastructure and project delivery within structured frameworks

Additional Notes

Some out-of-hours work is expected, including one weekend in four and shift patterns during 7 am – 6 pm.
