Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA – Office Based

About the Role:

Our IT Department is expanding, and we have a new role available for an IT Infrastructure Engineer! As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will work as part of the IT Infrastructure department. Your core responsibilities include supporting and maintaining infrastructure solutions and services, ensuring service delivery, and acting as an escalation point for support desks. This role will also involve project work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Manager to plan and implement changes systematically.
• Assist with testing and reviewing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Manage infrastructure incidents and resolve issues promptly.
• Support the IT Service Desk.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure proactively.
• Document practices, create process diagrams, and maintain the knowledge base.

You should have a broad technical background with experience in:

• Active Directory Administration
• Hypervisor technologies (Hyper-V, AHV, or similar)
• Networking (LAN, IPv4, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Managed Switches, VLANs)
• Scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell)
• Office 365 / Exchange Online
• Windows Server (2008-2022)
• Windows (7, 10, 11)
• Veeam Backup (desired but not essential)
• Linux/Unix administration (desired but not essential)
