IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Leeds Hybrid

Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of technical solutions for both customers and colleagues and delivers on the resolution of inter-system issues, working within cross-functional squads to assist in creating and implementing technical solutions for a domain or cross domain activity within a specific technology area.
- Support in the execution of technical decisions, technology choices and architecture for a wide range of high-performance products, capabilities, and platforms, effectively balancing short-term impact with long-term transformation.
- Support with the design of technical specifications and development of software solutions of smaller and/or less complex initiatives in partnership with the team, contributing towards the quality of delivery.
- Assist with planning and monitoring of all activities, from scoping to live, to ensure agreed scope and benefits are delivered in a contained project.
- Develop working relationships and communicate with a range of project stakeholders across teams to ensure actions are completed, progress is updated, and impacts on other components are managed.
- Support the identification and resolution of issues and defects to ensure delivery to required standard.
- Review own work and peers’ outputs to contribute to identifying and flagging errors or potential issues.
- Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
- Support the delivery of an ambitious and compelling technical roadmap to meet the needs of the business, engineering team, and partner teams.
- May support engineering and operational excellence initiatives, assisting with implementing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
Skills Required
- Eligible to be Security Cleared to SC level.
- Knowledge of modern server operating systems including Windows and Linux.
- Basic command line knowledge for interacting with servers, e.g. Bash, PowerShell, etc.
- IP networking skillset, e.g. device roles and subnets, management and installation of devices.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Desirable: Windows Server knowledge, e.g. AD, DNS, server management.
- Desirable: Oracle database knowledge, e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, administration.
- Desirable: CISCO accreditation.
- Desirable: Basic programming skills, e.g. Bash scripting, Perl.
- OS – Linux, scripting.
