Overview
Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to oversee both on-site networks and cloud-based infrastructures, with a primary focus on hosted active directory services as well as Azure technologies, while remaining versatile enough to incorporate other platforms as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, and enhancement of IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement.
- Manage IT infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director, including the design, implementation, and optimisation of IT systems to support organisational objectives.
- Ensure core systems are regularly maintained, upgraded, and secured to meet strict compliance standards and safeguard against potential threats.
- Act as a key escalation point for the college onsite support teams after they have exhausted available resources, providing advanced technical expertise as part of the 3rd line support framework.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, leveraging a combination of technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and collaboration with vendors or external support teams to minimise downtime and maintain smooth operations.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, including Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and cloud services, with a detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, desktop and server operating systems, and Microsoft System Management Tools.
- Apply an in-depth understanding of network technology, topologies, and services to support and optimise IT infrastructure.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure with a focus on cloud and on-premises services (Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, desktop and server operating systems, and Microsoft System Management Tools.
- Solid understanding of network technology and network topologies.
- Proactive, detail-oriented professional able to anticipate challenges and drive innovation within a collaborative team.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location & Travel
Predominantly based at Merton College, this is a Group Wide Post and you will need to travel/work from any of STCG Campuses as required.
