Overview

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to oversee both on-site networks and cloud-based infrastructures, with a primary focus on hosted active directory services as well as Azure technologies, while remaining versatile enough to incorporate other platforms as necessary.

As a pivotal member of the organisation's IT infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, and enhancement of IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement. Central to this role is the responsibility for managing IT infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director. This includes the design, implementation, and optimisation of IT systems to support organisational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead IT infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director; design, implement, and optimise IT systems to support organisational objectives.
  • Act as a key escalation point for the college onsite support teams after escalation; provide advanced technical expertise within the 3rd line support framework.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues by applying technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and collaboration with vendors or external support teams to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain core systems, ensuring regular upgrades and security to meet compliance standards and safeguard against threats.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, including Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and cloud services.
  • Apply a detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory; Desktop and Server Operating Systems; Microsoft System Management Tools; Network technology and topologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align IT systems with organisational objectives and improve business performance.
  • Travel/work from any STCG campus as required (primarily based at Kingston College in a Group Wide role).
Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, especially Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory; Desktop and Server Operating systems; Microsoft System Management Tools.
  • Knowledge of Network technology and network topologies and services.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate challenges and drive innovation while working in a team.
