Job summary

A local government council is seeking a proactive IT Help Desk Support member for a 4-6 week temporary role. You will provide first-line IT support during a Councillor IT rollout, assisting with device setup and troubleshooting. Ideal candidates will have experience in IT support and strong communication skills. This is a part-time opportunity perfect for gaining hands-on experience in a busy IT environment.

SUMMER TEMP OPPORTUNITY – IT HELP DESK SUPPORT (EHDC)



Duration: 4–6 weeks

Hours: 2–3 days per week (7.4 hours per day) - task dependent

Start Date: provisionally 4th Aug 2025

Location: East Hampshire District Council (EHDC)

We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual to join our IT Help Desk team on a temporary basis this summer. This
role will provide essential support during our Councillor IT rollout, helping ensure a smooth transition and continued service
excellence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide first-line IT support to staff and councillors
* Assist with device setup, troubleshooting, and user queries
* Log and manage support tickets using our internal systems
* Support councillor onboarding and training sessions as needed


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

* Experience in IT support or help desk environments
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
