Job summary

Plexus in the United Kingdom is seeking an IT Generalist to deliver IT service excellence to our people. You’ll support hardware, laptops, printers, and peripheral interfaces, ensuring teams have the tools they need.

This on-site, full-time role is based in Livingston or Kelso. A driving license and ability to travel between sites are required. You’ll work within a values-driven culture focused on growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of related experience is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience are welcome.
• Technical savviness and a desire to keep learning.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document procedures and ticket resolutions clearly.
• Detail-oriented with meticulous task and configuration logging.

Responsibilities

• Solve & Support: Act as the go-to troubleshooter for all IT challenges. You’ll keep our internal customers informed with timely, friendly updates while escalating issues when needed.
• Asset Management: Track and manage the entire lifecycle of our computing devices, software inventory, and related equipment—from setup to retirement.
• Maintain Standards: Follow Global IT policies and keep a close eye on change management procedures to safely test and implement system updates.
• Drive Improvement: Lean into metrics and process improvements. You’ll help us find the root cause of recurring tech hiccups and help implement permanent fixes.
• Guard the Gates: Play an active role in upholding our cybersecurity posture. You’ll help protect our systems, flag potential vulnerabilities, and keep our data secure.

What You’ll Do

In This Role, You’ll Own

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for a collaborative team player who enjoys helping others and has a solid foundation in IT support.

• Education: A Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of related experience is preferred. However, if you have an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience, we absolutely want to see your application.
• Technical Savvy: Intermediate-level computer skills and a strong desire to keep learning.
• Problem-Solving: Entry-level decision‑making skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can write clear technical procedures, document ticket resolutions, and explain tech concepts to non-technical colleagues with ease.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to keep meticulous journals of task progress and system configurations.
