IT Engineer

Job Profile

This role is suitable for skilled IT Engineers with a minimum of 3 years of proven and demonstrable experience as a Technical/IT engineer, ideally with a degree. Candidates should have a customer-focused approach, a commitment to service delivery, and a diligent, logical approach to work with strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidates must be based within commuting distance of Hemel Hempstead and be prepared to travel to client sites weekly.

Skills and Experience

• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy administration, Windows Server 2008 and above.
• Experience with Windows technologies such as Windows Server and Desktop operating systems (Windows 7 and above).
• Hyper-V setup and administration.
• Microsoft 365 tenant setup and administration.
• SharePoint Online setup and administration.
• Strong networking skills (DNS, routing, switching, etc.).
• Experience with firewalls such as Meraki, Draytek, or Sophos.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Engineer or similar role within an IT support environment.
• Recognized certifications (MCSE, CCNP, HP ASE).
• Foundation Certificate in ITIL.
• Previous MSP experience.
• Experience with cloud-based Managed Service Platforms.
• VoIP knowledge, preferably Gamma.
• Knowledge of Cisco or HP switch and router infrastructure.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, batch files, or VBScripts.
• Knowledge of network security technologies including IDS/IPS.
• Support experience with Apple products.
• Knowledge of desktop imaging software/services.
