Perth & Kinross Council is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Digital, Data and Customer service, based at Carpenter House in Perth. This key role will direct and support innovative AI and automation projects, paving the way for enhanced efficiency and service delivery across our organisation as we advance our digital ambitions.

You will:

- Direct and coordinate complex AI projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Collaborate with senior management, staff, and suppliers to define requirements and implement innovative solutions.
- Supervise a team of specialists, managing resources and fostering collaboration.
- Conduct data analysis and present insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure projects align with governance standards for responsible AI use, including compliance with ethical guidelines and data protection laws.
- Create approaches to evidence success of AI and Automation initiatives.
- Support teams across the organisation manage digital change.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated IT professional with:

- An HND in IT or equivalent qualifications.
- Proven experience coordinating IT projects, preferably in AI or automation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Leadership experience, including supervising teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
- A customer-focused approach, committed to delivering high-quality services.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying current with technological advancements.
- Evidence of experience in managing change driven by digital transformation.

Desirable attributes include certifications such as PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent, and experience in the public sector.
