Job description

Position: IT Centre Support Technician

Location: Kingdom Services Group Head Office, Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside, WA12.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 am - 17:00 pm (Half-hour unpaid break).

Salary: Up to £26,000.00 per annum (DOE).

Job Purpose / Primary Objective

We are seeking a skilled IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team and provide exceptional technical support to our staff. The successful candidate will manage IT Helpdesk tickets, configure security and compliance settings, deploy devices, and offer technical advice to colleagues.

Experience

What we need from you - skill base requirements:

  • Experience of helpdesk in a similar role.
  • Experience in working with customers remotely and in person, guiding them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency.
  • Standout candidates will be excellent problem-solvers with outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Professional Qualifications & Licenses (holding or working towards a distinct advantage)

  • A driving license holder.
  • A full five-year checkable employment history including a minimum of 2 work references, a personal credit check, right of work compliance.
  • Having a bachelor's degree in a related subject such as computer science or information technology can put you at a great advantage.

The successful applicant will match the below skill set

  • Microsoft certifications
  • Proficient in managing and resolving helpdesk calls.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft platforms, including demonstrated experience configuring Office 365 applications (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and associated software
  • Proactive, adaptable, and approachable attitude
  • Excellent team player with the ability to share knowledge with colleagues.

Core Responsibilities

What the role is

  • Manage IT Help Desk tickets through to completion, ensuring adherence to SLA’s.
  • Configure security and compliance settings across the Microsoft stack.
  • Set up and deploy laptops, workstations, and mobile devices.
  • Manage device updates and firmware using RMM and Intune
  • Provide advice on the best use of technology to colleagues at all levels.
  • Monitor core technology, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Maintain technical documentation and asset register.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally at all levels with a ‘can do’ attitude.
