A leading Financial Services organisation with a network of offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an IT Category Manager to join the procurement team. The role is based in Birmingham and offers flexibility for hybrid working. The position is a fixed-term contract for 9 to 12 months.
Your new role
The IT Category Manager will partner with the IT & Digital teams and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the procurement strategy. The role will deliver category management strategies to drive efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The IT Category Manager will manage suppliers to develop collaborative relationships, drive performance, ensure compliance with all company and legal requirements, and mitigate business risk. The post holder will lead related procurement activities, manage tender programmes, and negotiate and implement contracts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, assess, and challenge business requirements.
Coordinate the delivery of processes and initiatives, establishing best-in-class policies, processes, or services.
Develop and implement the Category Strategy when not supported by a Global Category Manager.
Manage UK & I Procurement processes, policies, and procedures (e.g., RFP, RFI) in line with local and Group requirements.
Negotiate and implement contracts for IT Categories, ensuring compliance with agreed service, performance, quality, and delivery levels.
Understand budget approaches with Finance and business budget owners to ensure budget definition, utilisation, optimisation, and compliance.
Utilise procurement tools and best practices to increase efficiency and quality, contributing to procurement savings and KPI objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, it is essential that you are a senior level IT Category Manager with exposure to software, SaaS, digital, and cloud mitigation-based IT procurement processes and initiatives. You will have developed and delivered IT category management strategies within a large and complex organisation. Previous experience with the Financial Services or related sector is essential.
