Osborne Clarke is seeking an IT Business Manager (internally known as IT Excellence Manager) in a newly created role. The position involves supporting the International IT Director in setting and executing the strategic direction of the IT function, fostering a high-performance culture, engaging in strategic planning, and leading initiatives across the IT department.

This is a permanent role, based either in our Bristol or London office, with a hybrid working arrangement.

The role

The IT Excellence Manager will collaborate with other business services teams to implement best practices, ensuring the IT department delivers efficiencies, mitigates risks, and drives improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategy and Roadmaps: Leading the development and ownership of comprehensive ITS-wide strategies and non-technology roadmaps, outlining the future direction of ITS and its services, aligning operational priorities with the organization's objectives.
  • Communications and materials: Implementing effective internal communication strategies using various channels such as written communications, internal sites, fireside chats, and town halls. Creating materials for forums like the Operations Board and managing stakeholder communications.
  • ITS Reporting: Overseeing reporting frameworks for KPIs and service levels, ensuring effective measurement and reporting, and identifying areas for improvement based on data.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Collaborating with finance and leadership to manage budgets, track headcount, and optimize resource allocation.
  • People and Talent Management: Working with HR to enhance skills, attract, and retain talent, establish shared goals, and support succession planning and recruitment efforts.
  • Projects & Initiatives: Managing non-technology projects and service requests outside the scope of the Change team, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
