Job summary

Oliver James Group in London is recruiting an IT Business Analyst for our well-established international insurance client. You will work across markets to drive business and technology change in a collaborative environment.

Key duties include eliciting requirements, mapping AS-IS and TO-BE processes, supporting business cases, translating needs into specifications, and coordinating testing and user training. Hybrid working and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within insurance
• Strong elicitation and documentation skills, with facilitation experience
• Experience with process analysis, modelling and data analysis
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent organization, time management and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative, adaptable approach with interest in delivering business change
• Exposure to IT systems development and working with third-party vendors
• Familiarity with SQL/database querying (Toad)
• Experience with EA tools and maintaining technical/process documentation
• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments
• Business Analysis or Change Management qualifications

• Eliciting, documenting and prioritising functional and non-functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops and other analysis techniques.
• Mapping existing (AS-IS) processes and designing and documenting future-state (TO-BE) processes.
• Supporting business case development and using data analysis to inform decision-making around systems and process improvements.
• Translating business requirements into clear specifications and user stories for technical teams and external suppliers.
• Developing and executing system test plans, coordinating UAT and supporting users through training and implementation.
• Maintaining process maps, data models and system documentation using Enterprise Architecture tools.
• Working alongside technical and support teams to investigate and resolve system queries and issues.
• Ensuring change activities align with established project governance, frameworks and internal standards.
