Job summary

Ayvens is seeking a Business Analyst to enable delivery of new business systems within the Digital division. You will translate operational needs into technical solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support change across projects.

The role focuses on elicitation, requirements analysis, process modelling and data reporting, with exposure to SQL and Microsoft DevOps. A degree and IT literacy are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in elicitation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile methods.
  • Systems thinking across technical disciplines.
  • Process modelling and workflow analysis.
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • SQL database querying and data manipulation (desirable).
  • Experience as a Business Analyst supporting change or delivery.
  • Degree-level technical qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft DevOps or equivalent (desirable).
  • Ability to work with large datasets using SQL (desirable).

The Digital division is responsible for ensuring high quality technology services are delivered to the Ayvens UK business by managing the implementation, delivery and management of robust and cost-effective solutions for the organisation. Incorporating Digital Product Management, Demand Management, Business and Technical Analysis, Technology Change & Adoption (IT PMO) the division ensures that technology programmes align with the business objectives and are successfully delivered to support the overall strategic direction of the organisation. The function sets policies, standards, and guidelines for technology change, demand and product management and implements these through the delivery of resilient, secure and interoperable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate delivery of new business systems by understanding operational and commercial requirements.
  • Analyse business needs, problems and opportunities, understand requirements and translate into technical solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-business stakeholders to agree the solution design and business processes.
  • Manage the expectations of business users and project stakeholders.
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of change.
  • Provide delivery teams with business and product knowledge to enable delivery.
  • Assist the business and development functions in optimising the scope, benefits and risks of proposed products and projects.
  • Contribute to monitoring project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
  • Maintain high level of professionalism, ensuring completion of all mandatory compliance training, policies, monitoring and set objectives.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong elicitation & analysis
  • Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile methodology.
  • Systems thinking and technical expertise /understanding of key concepts and ways of working across the technical disciplines
  • Process modelling and workflow analysis
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Database management and SQL (Desirable)
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role supporting business change, process improvement or technology delivery
  • Relevant technical qualification obtained to at degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Very good IT literacy for all MS Office products specifically Excel
  • Experience using Microsoft DevOps or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Ability to use SQL to query and manipulate large datasets in a database (Desirable)
