IT Business Analyst (Cambridge / London, Hybrid)

This role sits within the central IT Business Analysis team with a primary focus on digital delivery changes.

As a Business Analyst, you will be an inquisitive and strategic thinker who seeks to understand the root cause of business or end-user problems or opportunities, asking the right questions at the right time. You will act as a critical friend, collaborating with stakeholders to enable informed decisions based on sound analysis. You will translate business needs into value-driven solutions aligned with strategic and tactical goals.

You will work within the Business Analysis Service Framework to deliver services supporting IT-enabled change and help evolve the Business Analysis Service by building relationships and suggesting innovative ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake analysis to understand how a business area operates, considering people, organization, processes, information, data, and technology.
  2. Identify and elaborate user and business needs for effective design, development, and change.
  3. Ensure solutions meet business and user needs and align with organizational goals.
  4. Understand business and policy constraints, assess implications, and explore improvement opportunities.
  5. Define success measures and take ownership of expanding your knowledge and sharing best practices within the BA community.

Business Analysis Skills:

  • Apply structured approaches to analyze complex business problems and opportunities, supporting requirements definition and feasibility assessments.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet needs and work independently on assigned tasks.

Requirements Management:

  • Identify, analyze, challenge, and validate requirements; prioritize and manage them throughout projects.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Identify, analyze, and maintain relationships with stakeholders; communicate clearly and regularly to clarify needs and impacts.

Business Modelling and Process Improvement:

  • Model business elements and understand the impact of changes; lead process improvement initiatives and support their implementation.

Collaborative Working:

  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating empathy and clarity in communication.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in large multinational organizations or project teams.
  • Experience working with system integrators and delivery vendors like Accenture, Cognizant.
  • Experience with software development tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA applications and related business processes (CRM, ERP, subscription management).
  • Qualifications: BCS Diploma or IIBA Certified Business Analysis Practitioner, or equivalent experience.
