IT Assistant

Mothercare Global Brand is looking for an IT Assistant to join its IT Team. The IT Assistant will be the first point of contact for service desk issues, policies, and procedures. The primary objective of the role is to support the IT Support Manager in ensuring that end users can perform their duties without technical obstacles. Responsibilities include proactive maintenance and reactive tasks within SLAs.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

1. Service desk – Support daily issues and escalate complex problems to the Technical Support Manager, ensuring timely resolution.
2. Hardware support – Assist in maintaining end-user devices, including operating systems and policy-loaded software.
3. Software support – Escalate software issues to the appropriate team member or vendor for prompt resolution.
4. Hardware lifecycle management – Monitor device age and support device maintenance to achieve at least a 5-year lifecycle; assist in specifying and sourcing new devices.
5. Asset Tracking – Maintain an accurate log of all IT assets allocated to users.
6. Starters & Leavers Management – Coordinate with the business to ensure new starters receive the correct equipment and access; revoke access and recover equipment for leavers.
7. Daily Checks – Conduct regular physical checks of onsite equipment, such as printers and meeting room devices, and escalate issues.
8. IT Admin – Process all invoices related to the IT team.
9. Business Admin – Handle business-related administration, including courier invoices and FedEx relationships.

Knowledge & Skills

• Interest in IT processes with a desire to learn and develop skills.
• Service-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
• ITIL knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
