IT Asset Manager (Hardware / HAM) - Newcastle / hybrid
Skills/experience:
- Extensive experience in managing IT hardware asset management processes and operational tasks.
- Proficient in utilising ServiceNow, with a focus on Hardware Asset Management and related modules.
- Skilled in automating IT asset lifecycle processes using ServiceNow to increase efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
- Deep knowledge of IT Service Management practices, including Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and its integration with IT Asset Management.
- Ability to monitor and analyse trends in IT asset usage and expenditure.
- Proven track record in identifying and implementing cost-saving measures and asset optimisation strategies.
- Experience managing billing and budgeting processes.
- Certifications in IT Asset Management or related fields.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in developing and maturing IT documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skills in managing and leading change initiatives within global IT functions.
- ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 certifications.
Role/duties:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and asset optimisation by monitoring expenditure and inventory trends.
- Maximise the efficiency and return on investment of underused IT assets.
- Proactively enhance HAM processes and tools, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Support and lead HAM deployment and optimisation projects.
- Train and support IT staff and end-users on HAM processes and tools.
- Develop and implement strategies for IT asset management and optimisation.
- Monitor key performance indicators and develop IT Service Improvement plans.
- Integrate HAM processes with other IT service management practices.
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations through regular reviews and audits.
- Manage risks proactively throughout their lifecycle.
You will oversee and optimise the lifecycle management of the IT asset portfolio, ensuring efficient acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets while adhering to organisational processes, regulatory requirements, and budgetary guidelines.
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives, evaluating current processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and executing systematic improvements for better control and visibility of IT assets. The role involves developing strategies for asset optimisation and cost savings, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders, standardising processes globally, and providing training and oversight to ensure continuous improvement.
