The purpose of the role is to lead an outstanding IT service across the Trust and cultivate a high performing team that supports all staff, people we support and other stakeholders.

Reporting to the Resource Director, the role will be key in supporting the digital transformation agenda, providing IT and data expertise that will enable a higher quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and maximize efficiencies within the services that we provide.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop the IT strategy in alignment with the Trust-wide strategic goals and evolving digital transformation priorities;
  2. Oversee the Trust’s approach to cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. Serve as the subject matter expert for the organization;
  3. Oversee the Trust’s data and privacy framework, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws; train and educate staff on data protection measures as required;
  4. Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team of four, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement;
  5. Prepare and manage the IT department budget, optimizing resource allocation to achieve maximum value and efficiency, and ensure the team is equipped with necessary skills and resources;
  6. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Trust’s IT systems;
  7. Provide IT expertise and advice for the software owners across the Charity, including supporting the development of management reporting using Power BI;
  8. Support the development of an environment of digital innovation and best practices, ensuring the use of technologies for the benefit of the diversity of the people we support;
  9. Support technology implementation plans, ensuring all solutions are effectively project managed, risks and contingency plans are identified, and stakeholders are engaged for collaboration;
  10. Lead procurement and contract negotiations with vendors of IT systems and software providers, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and value for money;
  11. Produce regular reports on KPIs for the IT team and analyze variances against targets.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Recognized Degree in Business IT, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent education, training, and experience;
  • Proven track record in a senior management digital transformation role;
  • 6+ years’ experience in digitalization;
  • 5+ years Project Management experience;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Power BI;
  • Proven success in delivering complex projects;
  • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating organizational digital transformation solutions, delivering value-added change;
  • Effective change agent skilled in engaging senior stakeholders;
  • Strong benchmarking skills and knowledge of the digital landscape;
  • Extensive budget management experience related to digital technology design and adaptation;
  • Strong relationships with vendors and software suppliers to ensure effective delivery of digital solutions.
Location & Travel

Remote-based - Home. Regular travel to communities in Hertfordshire, Gloucestershire, Yorkshire, and Worcestershire will be required, including occasional overnight stays. Ideally, you will be located within travel corridors of Midlands to London or Manchester to York.
