Job summary

Randstad Care is recruiting care professionals for placements in remote island communities across Shetland, Orkney, the Western Isles, or Argyll and Bute. All accommodation is provided, and ferry expenses are reimbursed.

A minimum 3-month block with 45+ hours per week (5–6 days) is expected, with flexible scheduling and opportunities across care homes and home care. Shifts include long days (07:00–22:00), occasional 07:00–15:00 or night shifts (22:00–07:00) for care-home roles, or 07:00–23:00

Placement Overview

• Location: Remote island settings (Open to UK-wide candidates willing to travel).

• Commitment: Minimum 3-month block booking with 45+ hours per week (5-6 days a week with full schedule flexibility).

Shift Options

• Care Home Setting: Mainly long days (07:00-22:00), with occasional short shifts (07:00-15:00) or night shifts (22:00-07:00).
• Care at Home Setting: Flexible patterns between 07:00 and 23:00, conducting multiple home visits daily.

Pay Rates

• Umbrella: £21.00 per hour flat rate.
• PAYE: £17.91 per hour (rolled-up holiday pay).
