Join us as an ISDA Negotiator AVP at Barclays, where you will negotiate Master Trading Netting Agreements, focusing on the ISDA derivatives space, with the Bank’s counterparties. This role contributes to the Bank’s efficient use of capital. While primarily serving Barclays’ client base in EMEA, the successful candidate may also support other global coverage areas.

Key skills required for this role include:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Strong financial services experience, in legal or as a negotiator; ideally ISDA negotiation experience but other master agreements are considered.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Additional valued skills include:
  1. Fluency in French, Italian, or Spanish
  2. Qualified lawyer in Scotland, England & Wales, or other jurisdictions

The role is based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To oversee and manage transactional processes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation for financial transactions.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure Transaction Services and Documentation activities comply with applicable laws and regulations, managing legal and reputational risks.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, credit risk management, and other departments to ensure timely and efficient transaction execution.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage legal documents such as loan agreements and security documents.
  • Support transactions through preparation of summaries, due diligence, and interdepartmental support.
  • Develop and implement transaction processes and procedures for consistency.
  • Proactively identify and communicate legal risks, stay updated on legal and regulatory changes, and reflect these in policies and controls.
