Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a qualified accountant to take full responsibility for the financial management and reporting of our Ireland entity. Reporting into the North West Europe Finance team, this role leads all financial reporting, forecasting, controls and compliance for Ireland, collaborating with UK, Ireland and Israel teams.

This hands-on role requires owning the full finance cycle for a standalone business unit within a global organisation, delivering accurate results and insightful

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills and experience managing full finance cycle for a unit or subsidiary.
• Proven ability to own statutory reporting, controls and compliance for a standalone entity.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Strong governance and financial controls with external audits support.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process for the Ireland entity and deliver accurate management accounts.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting cycles and cash flow monitoring to inform decisions.
• Maintain strong control environment; coordinate statutory accounts and tax submissions.
• Partner with operational leaders and regional finance teams to drive financial insights and improvements.
