Hospice of St Francis is seeking a Health Care Assistant for its IPU with some community duties. You will provide whole-person care under a registered nurse, part of a multidisciplinary team, and support guests in Respite for Good beds.

You will keep records and handovers clear to colleagues while recognizing when to escalate concerns. Shifts are 12.5 hours day and night on a year-round rota, including 365-day service coverage.

This Health Care Assistant post sits on the in-patient unit (IPU) at The Hospice of St Francis, with some community work as the service needs. The core work is giving tailored, whole-person personal care to patients with life-limiting illness, under the direction of the registered nurse, and keeping accurate records and handover. Shifts are 12.5-hour days and nights on a rota covering every day of the year, with occasional support for guests in the Respite for Good beds. An enhanced DBS check is required.

• Previous experience in a hospice or palliative care setting
• Experience using electronic patient record systems
• Care Certificate or NVQ level 2
• Experience in a similar role in a healthcare or community care setting
• Experience delivering care in a rostered team working 24/7, 365 days a year
• Previous experience of rehabilitative care
