Job summary

St Clare Hospice in the United Kingdom is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our inpatient unit. The role is part time (23 hours per week) with a 24-hour rotation including days, nights and weekends.

We offer enhancements for nights, unsocial hours, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, along with a competitive salary and benefits package. We look for candidates with experience as a Health Care Assistant and an interest in specialist palliative care.

Qualifications

• Experience as Health Care Assistant in inpatient unit or similar setting.
• Knowledge of specialist palliative care desirable.
• Willingness to work a 24-hour rotation including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support patients and families in the inpatient unit.
• Deliver high standards of palliative care with compassion and professionalism.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to ensure patient comfort.
• Adhere to safeguarding and DBS pre-employment checks as part of recruitment.

Hours:

Part time, 23 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

This role will be part time for two shifts per week, and operates over a 24-hour rotation, the shift pattern includes days, nights and weekend working.

Additional enhancements:

• 35% enhancement for nights, unsocial hours and Saturdays
• 69% enhancement for Sundays and Bank Holidays

St Clare Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative care to patients and families in West Essex and the East Hertfordshire borders.

Do you have experience working as a health care assistant? We are currently looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant who has an interest in specialist palliative care, to join our Inpatient Unit.
