Job description

We are seeking an IPS Employment Specialist to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our STEP-UP Programme.

What will be expected from me?

As part of the overall expansion of the STEP-UP Programme, you will work within a team of IPS Employment Specialists and manage a caseload of clients who are in structured treatment for drug and/or alcohol use. Your role is to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences.

What might I be doing?

  • You will contribute to and report outcomes to the Council’s Public Health Team and develop improvement measures where needed.
  • You will deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (training will be provided), offering person-centred advice and guidance to clients, and building positive relationships with clinical teams and key partners to facilitate clients' move into suitable employment.

Overall Purpose of the Post:

To support the expansion of the STEP-UP Programme by working within a team of specialist IPS Employment Specialists and managing a caseload of clients in structured treatment for drug and/or alcohol use, helping them secure sustainable employment. You will deliver the IPS approach, providing tailored advice and guidance, and collaborating with Business Engagement Officers to enable clients to find suitable jobs.

You will also support the reporting of outcomes to the Council’s Public Health Team and assist in developing improvement measures as needed.
