An established industry player is seeking a dedicated employment specialist to empower individuals facing health challenges in their journey towards sustainable employment. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, providing tailored support, and fostering relationships with local employers. You'll work primarily in the community, delivering impactful services that promote social mobility and inclusivity. Join a mission-driven organization that values diversity and offers a range of employee benefits, including generous leave and professional development opportunities. If you are passionate about making a difference and supporting others, this role is perfect for you.
At Shaw Trust we believe everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life and an opportunity for rewarding work. We are a social purpose organisation challenging inequality and breaking down barriers to enable social mobility.
For us being part of the solution is about creating the conditions for this to happen, advocating and delivering services that make a real difference. Working in partnership not competition, we are part of an eco-system of purpose-led organisations, striving for a fairer, more equal society centred on opportunity for all.
The successful candidate will work with people with a physical and/or mental health condition which impacts their ability to gain or sustain work. You will manage a caseload of between 25 to 30 individuals to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred advice and guidance to individuals, whilst building positive relationships with local employers and stakeholders to enable individuals to move into suitable employment. Embedded within Primary Care, GP practices, Community Health Teams, Job Centres and the wider community, you will support participants on their recovery journey towards better health and wellbeing.
This is an in-person role, working 65% of the time in the community with 1-2 days per week onsite with the community mental health team at Vivienne Cohen house. This role is minimal home working (1 day maximum per week). Each employment specialist is required to do in-person Employer Engagement.
