A leading organization in mental health recovery is seeking an Employment Specialist in Leatherhead. Then join us as an IPS Employment Specialist.
Currently, one of our partners, Waythrough, is looking for an Employment Specialist to join our team in Leatherhead, Surrey. We assist individuals with mental health issues in finding paid employment, support them in retaining their jobs during struggles related to mental health, and advise employers on mental health in the workplace. Your contribution is vital to making this possible.
Your main responsibility? To help the individuals we serve to source appropriate work experience placements with local organizations and employers. Daily tasks include providing support, career advice, and guidance, helping clients set recovery and employment-focused goals, and offering training in personal and skills development such as CV writing and interview techniques. You will also establish and maintain positive relationships with partner organizations, local employers, and mental health teams, and develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will manage administrative systems to ensure referrals, assessments, and reviews are completed timely.
To succeed, you should have a good understanding of mental health issues and the barriers they create, along with excellent motivational, presentation, and listening skills. Willingness to travel within Surrey and work outside regular hours as needed is also required.
The successful candidate must be a car driver, capable of traveling independently across a large geographical area within Surrey.
