IPC Planning Engineer – Nuclear EPC, Bridgwater

Job summary

Wood is recruiting an experienced IPC Commissioning Planning Engineer to support EDF at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater. The role focuses on managing Level 2/4 IWS schedules using Primavera P6 and coordinating with other disciplines to support timely delivery.

Based at the HPC site, the 12-month rolling PAYE contract involves 40 hours/week, with emphasis on governance, data integrity and schedule reporting within a nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction or related field, or HND or equivalent with experience commensurate with a degree
• Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status
• Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project
• Substantial experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above
• Experience of commercial contracting
• Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques
• Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods in a UK context
• Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans
• Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (Estimation, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and software
• Understanding of earned value analysis
• Understanding of NEC/FIDIC contracts
• Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques
• High level of analytical and numerical skills and good attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all working and management levels

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera P6 with logic-linked work plans
• Ensure Level 2/4 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe
• Assist in Trend & Change process with analysis and indicators
• Identify, analyse and provide solutions to time-related issues
• Coordinate, verify and produce project-level schedule reports and commentary
• Adhere to governance and scheduling standards and procedures
• Protect Sensitive Nuclear Information per EDF policies
