The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will conduct pre- and post-operative consultations, assessing patient suitability for treatment. Key responsibilities include:

• Perform examinations related to cataract surgery
• Manage acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery, documenting findings in electronic medical records
• Provide health advice and support to hospital patients
• Offer first-line clinical advice and refer patients to medical practitioners when necessary
• Ensure safe handling and use of equipment within the clinical competency framework
• Stay updated with CQC policies and mandatory training courses

Requirements

• Current GOC registration as a qualified optometrist
• Extensive experience in refractive, high street, or hospital optometry
• Experience with patient administration and electronic medical record systems
• Experience working towards KPIs and conversion targets within Vision Correction
