Job description

This team is highly ranked in the directories in London for the work they do in Intellectual Property law and they are looking to recruit an IP Litigation Solicitor or Barrister of 0 to 3 years’ PQE/Call. The team has successfully represented clients in landmark IP cases before all of levels of UK courts, as well as the Court of Justice of the European Union. They offer a wide array of services, from co-ordinating cross-border patent litigation through to disputes concerning well-known brands and creative works. With a strong background in securing innovative forms of relief for their clients, they excel in delivering robust IP enforcement strategies, with a focus on affirmative recovery through cost-effective dispute resolution. The role involves advising on a range of disputes and related advisory work concerning both soft IP (trade marks, designs, copyright, and confidential information) and patents, including SPCs, FRAND disputes, and freedom to operate. The successful candidate will have experience in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, particularly in contentious matters relating to trademarks, passing off, design rights, patents, database rights, confidential information, and domain names. The team's work also involves advising on commercial disputes with an IP angle, where claims may involve contract, fraud, or tort, such as licensing disputes. Additionally, there will be a range of general IP advisory work, including advertising clearance, ASA disputes, and related matters, as well as opposition, revocation, and invalidity disputes before the UKIPO and other registries. You will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the life and business of the IP Disputes team, including involvement in business development, client care, training and learning, social impact, and health and well-being projects. Associates are encouraged to take on leadership roles, regardless of their level of seniority.

If you are already qualified you will either currently be an IP Litigation specialist or undertake a role which involves at least some IP Litigation matters. If you are newly-qualified, you will have undertaken a seat in either contentious or non-contentious Intellectual Property but have a desire to focus on contentious matters.
