We're looking for a software engineer to join our experienced engineering team and deliver transformative laser communications technology. You will be responsible for connecting our ground stations to the cloud, enabling remote operations and interfacing with wider satellite and communications systems. In this role, you will work closely with the other parts of our software team and our systems engineering team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Connecting optical ground stations to cloud services
  • Delivering dashboards and user interfaces for remote operation of ground stations
  • Developing and deploying APIs and algorithms for interactions with external systems
  • Defining and implementing cloud architecture and services for new communications products

Requirements:

  • Experience of IoT systems integration, protocols, and services, including gRPC and MQTT
  • Cloud architecture and service implementation, including dashboards, databases, APIs, security / authentication for IoT systems
  • Linux Development with Python
  • At least 5 years commercial experience
  • WAN networking and network performance modelling / optimisation
  • Experience and interest in space industry
  • AI / ML, particularly for optimisation

Location: Hybrid with travel when required. Our office is based in Osney Mead, Oxford.
