Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to join our Mobile Platform team in London. You will build and ship production iOS apps using Swift, collaborating closely with React Native and Android engineers to raise the bar on performance and reliability.

You’ll own key native features, contribute to architecture, and partner with Product, Design and Backend teams from idea through release, ensuring high-quality, secure mobile experiences for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping production iOS apps using Swift.
• Strong understanding of iOS frameworks and native mobile development principles.
• Experience with modern, high-engagement apps.
• Ability to write maintainable code and apply strong engineering practices.
• Commitment to improving reliability, testing, and overall app quality.
• Experience applying mobile security best practices (bonus).
• Experience collaborating with Android or React Native engineers (bonus).

Responsibilities

• Build the foundations of Zopa’s mobile experience and ship production iOS apps.

• Build the foundations of Zopa’s mobile experience


• Collaborate with React Native engineers and the wider mobile community to share best practices and make decisions about native development


• Identify bottlenecks, resolve bugs, and improve app performance and reliability


• Build and evolve customer-facing features using iOS native capabilities


• Partner with Product, Design, and Backend teams from early ideas through high-quality releases


• Contribute to the app’s architecture, shared capabilities, libraries, build infrastructure, and analytics infrastructure


• Help significantly overhaul the app experience using native development

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping polished production iOS apps using Swift


• Solid understanding of iOS frameworks and native mobile development principles


• Experience with modern, high-engagement apps


• Ability to write maintainable code and apply strong engineering practices


• Commitment to improving reliability, testing, and overall app quality
